Tyrant - 03 May 2004 18:19 GMT I have just become the owner of a K reg, Mini Cooper, 1.3i. Silver and Black, its stunning, with the usual rust in the usual places, and .......................
None of the indicators work, the Interior light, Rev counter, Heater, windscreen wipers... I have checked fuses, and none seem to have blown.
Any help please.????????
Rgds Neil
Jono Barspeed - 03 May 2004 18:22 GMT Use a multimeter volt gauge and point test the connections around the fuse box, my car was awful for corrosion around the spade connector points and this could be the reason. Also remove the fuses and make sure the clips and fuses are clean and free of rust or white stuff that tends to build up here. There are also fuse holders to the right of the fuse box along the under the lip, these can often get hot and melt, they are very cheap white or clear plastic in line fuse holders, check them the same, use a multimeter and clean as best you can. Give it a try.

Perhaps its something to do with the Alarm / Immobiliser on the car, being wired in wrong. I will try what you said all the same, as it wont hurt to check.
Many thanks Neil

remove the screws, turn the fusebox over and look at the back of the fuse connectors, I'm sure this is where the problem is, Fitzy

I can't remember which one though. Sorry.
Oh, hang on, that may not be true as you have the one with a zillion wires and fuses.
I would bet that they are all on the same fuse still - just the same as the four fuse models.

The Muffin Man - 04 May 2004 00:34 GMT In that case, it will be one fuse and either a blown bulb or a bent connector in the light itself. They are notoriously bad as they work on the "bent bit of paperclip" theory of electronics :D

Steve - 05 May 2004 17:44 GMT The mega fuse box didn't appear till later so you are right with your first sentence. But the other thing is the problems that the 4 way fuse box gives when it corrodes. Could be another case of this.

After much of the same problems over the past couple of months, I finally traced my problem to a corroded fusebox. A thorough cleaning with the dremel and it cured the indicator/horn/wiper issue straight away. You could also get some blue spade connectors and replace ALL the horrible black plastic ones as these are probably corroded as well. (plus it looks nice!)
