How does the damned thing come off!?

I should remember I know I should, but I can't :(

The wipers are being very slow on the current Mini, and I want to try
replacing the motor, and also be able to get at the cable to give it a
damned good clean and grease. Except I can't actually get the cable off the
end of the motor, and I'm having brain fade.

The cover plate on the wiper motor has to come off first.

I dont think you can with out taking the motor casing apart, i replaced the
motor and cable when i did mine, making sure to remove the wipers before
starting the job.

Thanks to both you and Graham W :)

I remember I've done it in the past, I must have taken the whole lot off
then separated it I suppose, was a long time ago.

Guess I'll be digging out my very small sockets and see if one fits then :)

I even went against my principles and looked in the Haynes BOL for the
answer, it said undo the securing nut and remove cable...
