The cover plate on the wiper motor has to come off first.
I dont think you can with out taking the motor casing apart, i replaced the
motor and cable when i did mine, making sure to remove the wipers before
starting the job.

I remember I've done it in the past, I must have taken the whole lot off
then separated it I suppose, was a long time ago.
Guess I'll be digging out my very small sockets and see if one fits then :)
I even went against my principles and looked in the Haynes BOL for the
answer, it said undo the securing nut and remove cable...
