Replace the whole thing, dont ever try and fix faulty belt bits. Goto any
local motor factors and get an aftermarket belt kit.

Inertia reel belts.
Don't ever dismantle them, just replace the entire unit.
Most people recommend against buying "used" seatbelts, in case they
really have been "used". I feel if you can see and assess the car they
came out of then they're no worse a risk than the original seatbelts in
any second hand car. Obviously you don'twant belts out of a car that has
had a front end prang.
