A meaningless thread of many posts is but a fraction of a spammers jpeg.

no picture.

Hey Tim, don't feel so down. Bandwidth is an important thing in this world.
After all, without bandwidth, none of us would be able to waste it poking
fun at you ;-)

I keep forgetting you blokes have to pay for your time on line, not like NZ
where we pay a flat rate, no local call charges per-minute..so my bandwidth
is not an issue, I can take all the time I like to download

So hows the Landi Steve? Guess what Im doing now..Im working in vehicle
sales at a combined Renault and Jeep / Chrysler delaership, and we are
getting the Landi Franchise in a couple of months as well...might stop those
guys giving me a hard time because Im driving the better pproduct LOL

Just gave it a coat of NATO matt green paint at the weekend. It regularly
gets scratched and this paint is just so cheap. ?35 for 5 ltrs. Put it on
with a roller! Given it is matt finish, it actually looks OK.
There are stickers on eBay at present that read 'I'd rather push my Land
Rover than drive a Jeep!'.... maybe you should buy them one! Or maybe that
would loose you your job!

Per minutes - you're not still stuck on dialup are you?? :p

Does that mean you're not coming to the fun day this weekend?? :)
Tim - 22 May 2004 21:35 GMT
Im not stuck on dial up. Im there by choice. cant see the point of spending
hard earned for broadband or what ever, when dial up suits my needs
perfectly well

And no Im not going to the fun day this year, I'm working for one, plus its
a long way to go to watch others have fun, and until the Jem is completed I
have no car to go and have fun with...no way I'll take Maggie on the track
again, not after last year, when every man and his dog in a hotted up 1275
wanted to take me on to prove they are faster than a twin pointed injected.
I'm afraid looneys in roughies running on a 3:4 diff out to prove a point
just have no respect. Maggie is a cruiser not a racer, and the 2:7 diff is
designed for comfortable high speed long runs on the open road, not racing
tracks....next year maybe

Did you get out of the wrong side of the bed today Tim?  Go on a long cruise
with your 2.7 diff.  That will put the smile back on your face!!

:D

Yeh, I'm down to 1 kidney, thats the price you pay for progress.

Ah true eh?
That's not that cool - I went up in any case, and went for a ride in the
Haycock race mini - holy fun-tastic! 190-200k down the back straight of the
race course in a car that had been rolled the week before!!!
Quite a few people even though it was cold as a cold thing.
A couple of our club members went out on the track - and said everyone was
really respectful this year - probably due to the wet conditions and lower
number of people taking their cars out on the track.

I was contemplating lowering the ratio of my diff - but nothing was
available when I was putting the GB back together, so 1:3.44 is stays!

Now I just have to decide what colour to paint the block.

2:9 is about as low as you can go with a carb engine, and even thats a bit
of a push, the injection has improved tourque so pushes the 2:7 easily,
she's quick enough on the open road, but bogs down in the tight hairpins on
the track and I really dont like to drop down into 1st gear, its to hard on
the mechanicals etc. The main protaganists are a couple of lads up the coast
from you a ways, who for some reason seem to have developed a un-founded
antagonism towards me. Maybe because they are jealous of Maggie. Who knows,
but one thing is certain if they had "served" me up on the track they
wouldnt have put their hands in there pockets to repair her. I have it from
my local sources that one of them managed to break his "race car" on the
very first lap anyway, which is really rather amusing LOL. That will teach
him to be a "blow hard" lol
