VIN number location

Other then the obvious VIN plate, where else would you find vin
numbers on a Mk III and later Mini?

there is a chassis number stamped on the scuttle lip under the bonnet on my
1994 mayfair

I think that few Minis had the VIN number anywhere other than the plate
until the later ones like the 94 car mentioned. Not sure when the stamped
number came in but I would guess around 1990.

I have a VIN plate, of course, but I wanted to see if they match, you
dig?

Thanks for the tips, I'll look at the appropo places, and see what I
can find.

I know, for example, a Corvette has a bunch of places where you can
find the VIN, to make sure body matches engine, etc..

This might sound stupid but on the V5, thats the easyest place to find it.
