I recently purchased a one owner, 1986 Mitsubishi Magna. The owner explained
that the car, has been garaged for 12 months, tho was started and allowed to
run for several minutes, tho not on a regular basis. I have noticed when i
have driven for 20 odd miles, the engine seems to crackle a great deal when
cooling down, plus the interior seems to be too warm, even tho the heater
unit is on cool and the air is circulating around the inside of the car. Any
help would be much appreciated.

Do you have a temp gauge on the dash, does it read high.
Have you checked the thermostat to ensure that it is working correctly.
A stuck (closed) thermostat would cause excess heating in the engine.
If this is the original thermostat, I'd replace it on spec, they are cheap
enough.
