Folks,

When I make a turn with my 1996 Galant 1.8gli (both left and right), there
comes al loud squeeking noise noise from down under. Its like when you rub
rubber over a dry window. It seems to come from the part where the steering
axle, enters the 'whatever its called'  down under in  the motor.
Its sounds as if there al several rubber parts interconnecting and turning
under pressure without lubricant.

Anyone an idea about the possible cause?

Your power steering pump belt needs tightening or replacing.

Thanks,

I'll have a closer look on the thing next week.
(An explosion view would be nice, but I guess I'll have to do without one)
greetings,
Hans
