I have a 1994 Mitsubishi Lancer that has had a red exclamtion mark in
a circle, warning light come on. My brother thinks that maybe it is
low on break fluid or the break pads are wearing out. Does anyone
know? I bought the car without a manual and can’t find much info
on-line anywhere.
Can anyone help?
Cheers, helpful people!

dude im pretty sure your brother is right. Did you check your fluid? Do
your breaks feel spongy? Do they make a squeaking or grinding sound?
And did you call the dealer and ask?

Thank you! I’ve had people telling me it might be my handbrake. It’s
definately not that, I’m sure of it. My fluid levels are about half
capacity so I’ll top it up to see if that helps. You are also right
about my brakes feeling just a little spongey and on occasions they
make a little squeal. Definately not grinding though. I know that
noise is not good. I haven’t called the dealer. This was my first
port of call. I’m going to take it to my brother’s next weekend and
he can check it out for me. Thanks for your post. Appreciate someone
telling me it’s not my handbrake!!
