Diamonte Harmonic Damper

Hi,

I need to replace the harmonic damper for a 2002 Mitsubishi Diamante
3.5L, but I can't figure out how to get the old one off. Any ideas?

I've tried turning the bolt in both directions and still no luck.

just for information, is this harmonic balancer used on 4g63 6-bolts
engine, and what is its role?

Thanks Andrea. I have no idea the type of engine other than it's a 3.5L
V6. It's mounted to the crankshaft and drives the serpentine belt and
the power steering pump.
