I have a 2003 Galant ES.  Last weekend when I tried to start it up, it
started right away but then it dies.  If I press the gas pedal before
it dies, the engine will run but if I stop pressing on the gas pedal
it dies right away.  If anyone out there has an answer, please tell me
the possible causes and solutions.  Can't drive it to the repair shop
since it won't maintain engine idle.  Don't really dare to back out of
the garage at full speed.

Might be ISC motor issue. Try keeping gas until the engine is warm.
Check rad fluid level too.
