Hi I have a 1987 L300 and the fusible link that comes off the battery
keeps melting (doesn’t blow) It had a 60amp fuse in it so thats what i
keep replacing it with is this too big to start with. I have replaced
the alternator and starter motor and it still happens.

Does anyone else have any other suggestions.

Cheers

The problem is there is a poor (ie resistive), likely corroded connection
somewhere. Since its an 87, pull the main fuse block off the firewall and
look under at the fuse links. Some where you'll find a corroded connector
that's the cause of the heat.

Do whatever it takes to repair the connection.
