I just ran into someone who has a Spyder (2005 I think). He said he
wanted to rip out the factory stereo and was told not only would it cost
a lot ($1500?) but that it would wreak havoc with the rest of the car.
He was told that some engine sensor stuff, keyless entry, and some other
things were wired into the stereo. Does that make sense and is it true
for the last few years of the Spyders? I'm not planning on replacing
mine but I don't want to run into problems if I do nor do I want it to
cost a lot (maybe for rewiring?).
thanks for any info

This is the first time I have heard of anything like that.
You could try to pull out the stereo (disconnect it, you can always
connect it back again) and see what it will affect, I suspect - it
will affect NOTHING.
