I just read online that the following law firm has filed a class
action suit for all the people having problem with their 2001-2004
Mitsu paint\clear coat issues. It's useless to me, living in Canada,
but hopefully you yanks with the problem will be able to get Mitsu to
admit there's a problem and I can drive a car I'm not ashamed to be
seen in.

I got no more information on it, just stuff I've read online. I've
emailed the guy who initiated the lawsuit and he directed me to the
lawyer here:

The problem is not restricted to Nth America.  Here in Australia, where
we have very strong UV radiation, Mitsushitty paint shows the same
problem. And not just black cars. Most 'shitties from 2003 models back
have a horrible scab of failed clear coat on their bonnets and roofs.
Some have it more advanced than others. I have seen some later models
with it too, which I suppose means that they have not been garaged.

When I was in Bangkok earlier this year, I noticed it on the 'shitties
there too. So it is obviously a global thing for them. Because it is a
global thing that can only mean that Tokyo head office is deliberately
specificying sub-standard clear coats and they probably only save a few
cents on cheapskating the UV protection chemicals.

Let us hope that the rotten bastards get taught a very expensive lesson.
