mitsubishi shogun gearbox problem

have just bought mitsubishi eci-3000 v6 shogun.i have noticed aclunk
from gearbox/drivetrain when changing gear ,also noticing vibration at
all speeds .has anyone experienced this problem?also it jumps out of
reverse .

Hmmm. Why did you buy it?

Check your tail shaft U-joints.  The clunk could be that, also the
vibration, possibly the reverse problem too. Also check your engine mounts
to ensure that the engine has not shifted forward. Esspecially check that
the tail shaft yoke has 6-10mm of in-out freeplay on the
transmission/transfer case. If the engine has shifted, AND the UJ's are
loose, the yoke can rattle around and wear out the yoke bearing/bush
(whatever's fitted to your vehicle).
