I charge my batttery but when I turn the key to start the car, the
battery dies instantly without the motor turning over.  Like there is
a short somewhere.  I sent the original ECU to a company to be rebuilt
and bought another one.  I installed the one I bought.  I don’t know
if its the ecu at all or if its simply an electrical short

Either there's a poor connection on the battery, or it has a dead cell.
