I am considering purchasing the Alitma but can't get a straight anwer on
this:

What fuel does this car use? Can it use both regular and premium?  If so,
how does using either fuel affect performance?  What is the minium octane
required to power the car?

The OEM recommends premium for the 3.5 liter engines.  The engine has a
knock sensor, so you can run regular without any problems.  But you will
loose about 5 hp.  Unless you rev the engine to red line frequently, you'll
never notice any differnce, except in your wallet.

Here is an interesting article from USA today regarding this.

RZ,
Excellent article.  Answers all my questions except one:  What octane level
does Nissan recommend?
