I have a 95 Altima GXE.  Lately it has been doing some wierd things.
Randomly, the brake and battery lights will come on simultaniously, stay for
a few seconds, and leave.  Also seemingly randomly the headlights, and
dashboard light get significantly brighter for a few seconds, and go back.

I found it to occur when winding it out in first.

You might want to have your alternator tested.

I agree, altenator.  When mine went out the brake light came on and stayed
on.
