cannot open door from outside on front passenger door. any clues on
reconncting the rod inside the door?
If you can get the door open, you should be able to pull the interior panel
off with a flat-head screwdriver. Once inside, peel the plastic back
(noise, moisture barrier, so try to keep it intact). Then you'll have to
use your hands for eyes, There should be a metal rod from the door handle
to the lock box, with a single plastic clip (maybe metal) on the door
handle to keep the bugger from coming off. In some cases the rod may be
bent, so when you pull the handle the rod bends instead of opening the
door. If you feel absolutely no resistance when using the outside handle,
then most likely the rod has come off of it. Another possibility is that
the handle eyelet has broken, in which case you will need a new door
handle.
