Hi all...new here to the forums. I have a 1995 Nissan Altima. The brakes
were low sometimes and great sometimes. The rubber gasket on the cap on my
master cylinder was tore all to pieces so I replaced that...the brakes were
great until I turned the car off. So I decided to bleed the front brakes
which seems to have only made it worse. Now I have very little brake. I
checked the booster for airtightness...all is well there. About the only
thing I can think of now is to bleed the rear brakes and if they are okay it
must be the master cylinder itself. Any ideas? Also, how do you bleed the
rear brakes? Please if anyone can help, this is my ONLY transportation to
work. Thank you in advance.

Check all your vacuum lines leading to the master cylinder first off if yo
haven't.
If water got into the master cylinder (which is likely if the seal was al
cracked and broken) you probably have to totally flush the lines, bot
front and rear. Bleeding them might have just moved water from the maste
cylinder down into the lines, making things worse. If it were my car
would try a full brake fluid flush
