Fuel Door Stuck

Last night with the fuel gage right on the E I went to fill up. When I
pulled the fuel door lever I felt a snap and now the handle freely
moves and the fuel door is still closed!

Is there an emergency release for the fuel door or another way or
releasing it?

I should have mentioned is an 05 altima.
