I have the same problem in my 2001 Pathfinder. I get an error 2 when
trying to activate the CD player. anybody know where to get the error
codes or see this particular one before?
From what I have learned these units are prone to such errors but there
repair companies that will overhaul your unit to fix any problems and clean
it inside and out, for much less than the cost of a new head unit. The
Bose speakers only work with the Bose head unit, and vice-versa, so before
you think you can just buy a new CD player, you need to consider the cost of
new speakers as well.
My unit is doing OK except for occasionally the display will disappear,
which is a common problem. I have found a local company (Nashville) that
will fix anything plus clean it good as new for 75.00 plus parts, so when it
needs repair I know where to go. There are also a number of companies
online that will do this.
Call your local Nissan dealer and see if they can recommend you to a local
company which would be preferable to shipping it both ways.
