OK, nobody responded to my question about rear end lift when going over
bumps and a loud metal noise and a loose parking brake cable.

I shall make an entry for others to have knowledge.

The parking brake cable was tightened up by the dealer for $28.00.

The rear end lift going over bumps, and the loud metal noise was caused by
three things.
1. The tire pressures set by the dealer at the last service call were 36PSI,
should have been 29PSI.
2. One of the rear struts just replaced 5 weeks ago was in fact defective
and this meant that all we got was spring on that corner of the car, with no
shock absorption, thus the rear end came off the road and shifted, as well
this caused a metal noise.
3. The heat shield was also loose and was causing a metal ringing sound as
it hit the muffler.

The car is now back to a really great ride and the next and final piece of
maintenance is to have some rust fixed and get the areas painted. This is
turning out to be expensive, the car is painted Pearl White. I have been to
2 body shops and 1 small independent. The independent guy said, "Pearl
White? I won't even think about touching it." One shop said $450.00 and the
second estimated closer to $800.00 then said, "Pearl White?, uh, we'll need
some Sikens paint at $200.00 a can to have any luck at coming close to a
colour match."

So, it seems that the Pearl White paint job is problematic for a lot of
places. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Pearls are three stage paints. There is a base color (white in your
case), then a pearl coat, then a clear coat. Unless the car is new, it's
very difficult to match the color correctly. You can't just blend it
like you can two stage paints. Often the only way to make it really
right is to spray the whole car.
