Maxima has a terrible shake at 50 and gets worse the faster you go. Feels like the front end is going to fall off!! Shakes worse if I turn wheel to left as Im going 50mph and up. Cv joints are fine and struts dont bounce either?? Sounds like metal hitting metal very quickly. Ball joints? Thanks Nel:) wheel bearing... And make sure your lugnuts are tight. PS I wouldn't drive it if the car is that rough. That would be my guess. I had one go bad a long time ago (rt front of 95 SE). I tried 3 times to get my dealer to look at it and they never did anything, even when I told them that a right front wheel was loose when jacked up. I finally took it to an independent garage, and by then the bearing had eaten into the axle and required replacement of hub assembly. I was also told at one time that one of my lower control arm bushings was migrating (apparently squishing out of place). That was not noticeable in driving, but I had lower control arms replaced while replacing struts. Thanks Nel:) Check the upper strut mounts. Position yourself where you can see the strut top bolt and bounce the car. If there is any movement at all, the mount is bad.
