i have the standard bose stereo system, but the control set sound almost
never comes on unless i drive the car for a long time, i then it usually
cuts out, the tape player doesnt accept takes, the display cuts on and
off, the cd player almost never works and gives a cd err message, when it
does work its usually quite staticky,i found a post from someone else for
the fourth generation nissans that had this problem and it explains how to
repair what is apparently a shorter resister, r510 for the display, and
r519 for the audio, however i have the third generation and after taking
it apart the numbers that label the resistors arent the same, and the
problem board which is the stereo wire and power board is completely
different, so now ive got it apart and dont know what im supposed to be
doing, i would resauder everything but i dont know what half of these
levers and pulleys are, anyone who knows how to solve this problem
please,......anyone

The solution to a problem with a radio that's 11 years old is to replace the
radio.
This is especially true for the Bose system on the 3rd Gen Max.
I'm going to be replacing my stereo and speakers within the next few months.
