My 2001 Maxima's alarm goes off every 30 minutes. But not always. Its
crazy...maybe it is the day of the week or alignment of the stars? My
mechanic couldn't replicate it...or figure it out. The "check engine"
lite is on also on but this relates to a bad catalytic converter.
Help...this darned alarm thing is driving me mad.

Check to see if your door locks fully engage. Get in, lock the doors
with the remote, and then see if they are all the way locked. If they're
not, it can cause flaky alarm problems.

Every 30 minutes? Not 29 or 31? Wierd. Another non-mechanical
possiblity would be a nieghbor who is fond of practical jokes! If so,
let us know so that we can help you plot your revenge. ;-)

try raking the battery out of the remote for a while and see if the
condition still exists.
If it stops, chances are the panic button on the remote is setting it off.
You will need to replace the remote
