intermittent stalling on a 2000 Maxima

My car will stall when I slow down in traffic or when I apply the brakes to
go around a corner.  It does not do it all the time...does anyone have the
same problem

You mean does it idle out?  This happen to me a few times over the past
winter.  When I disengaged the clutch, the engine stalled.  

I figure it needs a tune-up or something.  Not gonna worry about it unless
it starts becoming problematic...

I had the same issue.  I think I've solved it by cleaning the throttle body
with clean rag, preferably new, and a decent spray can of carb cleaner.
Someone out there has the the link on to how to do this?  If it still
happens the same article that describes how to do this mentions a valve
that might need replacing.

NissTech might be of better help here?
