My daughter has a maxima 2000 .The problem she is having is intermittenly
the car runs rough and even at high speeds 90mph it seems it's holding
back some power. We just had all 6 coils replaced because of the codes that
came up . That went away but now we are getting codes PO171 and PO174. any
suggestions.

G'day to you too mate
thanks for the response the other day. My mechanic looked at a couple of
prints out but he already had in mind to change the Mass airflow sensor.
Since doing it last thursday 5/19 my daughter says she cannot believe the
difference and pick up it now has.Unfortuately there is no code for a
problem on Mass Aiflow sensor. My mechanic said most people would have
started at the o2 sensors .Our cost was $200.
i hope this helps other owners

Your mechanic was correct in diagnosing the Mass airflow sensor. The
failure codes you were seeing seem to be one of the more frequently
occuring problems on the 2000 year Maxima's. Each time, the MAF has
been the source of the problem. Glad you got the problem fixed.
Cheers.

The DTC's you mentioned are P0171 (Fuel injection system lean/righ
bank) and P0174 (Fuel injection system lean/left bank). Possibl
Cause:
Intake air leaks
Front heated oxygen sensor
Injectors
Exhaust gas leaks
Incorrect fuel pressure
Lack of fuel
Mass air flow senso
