Yesterday my brake and battery lights came on in my 2001 maxima. Then this
morning, my wipers were not working at full strength. When pulling into
the neighborhood, the entire dashboard when completely dead (tach, speedo,
oil, gas, radio, etc.). What is going on?

the alternator is bad and needs replacing.

Spend the $$ and get a factory OEM part or you will be doing the job again
before you know it.

Weak alternator or weak battery, or both.  The battery light
comes on to indicate that the battery is not charging, the
brake light comes on when the ABS senses low voltage.  Because
the dash board is controled by a microprocessor, it shuts down
when the system voltage goes low.  And the windshield wipers
need no further explanation.
