Hi, i got new axels a few weeks ago and the day after i got them i was
driving from sd to phoenix and the car just stopped. do you think its
the new axles, or maybe the transmission?

There are zillion reason for a car to stop, startin from police officer to sinking into sea..

Pls give more info: if engine runnin, noises, what means "just stopped", manuat -or- A/T, car model, mileage, how clucth/gear selector moves, oil checked etcetc ? ? ? ?

sorry about the lack of description. the engine will runs fine. its a
1995 gxe automatic. when i put the transmission into gear, the car
won't go anywhere but the speedometer changes if you accelerate. If its
in D and im putting it back into P it makes weird noise.

..won't go anywhere but the speedometer ..
Speedo picks it info from tranny/speedo sensor. Tranny wont turn, sensor wont pick rotation w/o wheels turning. ...Except if something is broken, loose or disconnected

I remember on one discussion about maxima axles there was a claim that you can have five different axles sold to maxima, which all look almost similar but do not fit. One axle set even locked the tranny differential... If the claim is true, anythin becomes possible: Its important to have some pro, familiar (!) with maxima, to check and compare axles by measuring them, before installation. (or worst case buy from stealer$hip)

Maybe your axle end has slipped out from its boring? Needs to be towed to shop..
