Any electricians or mechanics out there please help me out.  I got a 99
Maxima.  I can't pass my state inspection because my airbag light won't
turn off.  I took it to the dealer and they were going to charge me the
OUTRAGEOUS price of $4300 to fix it & with my budget I can't pay that.
I know there has got to be a way around this.  All I need to is to get
this light turned off or just to fix it as minimally as possible just
so the light will go off.  They're trying to tell me to fix stuff that
I KNOW has nothing to do with this light.  Any advice would be
appreciated, because I can't even drive my car right now, since it
won't pass inspection.

Once put a "Change Oil @ xxx. miles sticker I made on my dash to cover
the automatic seatbelt light that was on until I got a junk yard
replacement. Be creative.

There is a simple reset procedure. I don't remember the specifics it but I
did it to my maxima 6 months ago and the light hasn't returned. Try
maxima.org.

More ppl get killed servicing & manufacturing airbags than they 'save'. Pls refer to:  UGA statistics professor Mary C. Meyer: "new analysis of existing data indicates that, ... airbags ... increased probability of death in accidents.

The toxics used in bags do ruin our environment and then some: one inhale, if bag ruptures, leaves you 4minutes lifetime, with or without lamps. Man youre dead, no body can do nothing to ya but bury... luckily doesnt happen too often

I havent got any airbags, luckily in my maxima there has never been... I hate to drive ol shaky ammo in front of me... I guess half US cars today do not have bags, the other half either stolen or malfunctional: killin babies

News articles tell that lots ppl dont either have airbags - after the so called maintenance... They tell its good income on serviceman to plug bags out and sell it in blk market. (Not my invention, let the article writers give comment). Dear reader: do you actually know if theres an airbag still installed, or has it been spirited off

If one does such bypasses for himself, I guess its morally ok. If he then sells it without informing buyer, I guess its felony. However, all laws should always be respected; (here every car owner by default is under criminal law, so I must be a criminal by default... so why bother splittin hairs.

Criminal: I think its criminal to try to charge 5k from bags on a car which is worth less

But yes, at least in ideal heaven, there should not be need to bypass warn in lights... so in one sense Nirav youre right: dont ever do anythin illegal or anythin smbdy might think its illegal... like own a car
