The rear spoiler of my 1997 Nissan Maxima wasn't bolted down and it was
broke off (long story) today.  It had 2 wires (red/black) for the brake
light.  Can I put this back myself?  I don't know much about cars but it
looks like a fairly easy job.  Any thoughts, suggestions, and advice would
be MUCH appreciated!!!!

Yes, bare the wires, connect, tape. Lasting, watertight sealing is ensured with self vulcanizing rubber tape on top of electrical tape

General: The only way to harm/kill uself with a car +12V system, is to accidentally swallow the battery... Even in most cases of possible wrong connection, only fuse will blow. Check link below, Seek for Edu sites like: http://www.howstuffworks.co
