Ant Attack

I  found today that my 94 Max SE was under attack.

It sits in my garage most of the time because i have been working from
home.  I never eat or allow to eat inside the car.

Today I was going to take it out for a spin when I realized that tiny
blond ants were crawling all over, around the windshield.

Upon inspection I found that they were coming from under the "Drain
weatherstrip", the one that goes over the doors and by the side of the
windshield.

When I removed the strip, I found huge colonies, one on each side of the
car, right by the side of the windshield.  I found smaller colonies
under the bezel that covers the cowl, right by the firewall.

I sprayed, cleaned and baited.  I hope it takes care of the problem.

Anyone else has experienced this?

No ants but I did get mice in my old 89 Max. This was because I have a bag
of dogfood in garage. The mice chewed on the wiring under the hood. Not a
happy thing.

Similar thing happened to my friend's volvo.  He saw squirrel inside the
car and thought it was cute.  The squirrel got hungry and the car did
not start anymore.  The critter ate lengths of many wires.
I brought his car to life after splicing/soldering about 80 chewed up
wires.  Funny thing, the squirrel ate the insulation, and copper, but
stopped when the wires got to rubber grommets.
