hot & cold starting problems

i have a 1999 nissan maxima
whith hot & cold staring problms sometimes i get in it 1st thing in the
morning it will not star
will crank but will not star
i took it to the dealer and head the comp test ran and they stated
it was something to do wiht cam
i do chenge the cam same problen

1. Dont go to that shop anymore.
2. Engine needs gas, spark on time plus air & healthy cranking

To narrow problem sources:
- does it crank?
- When problem is acute, disconnect one coilpack, insert spare plug,
ground it on engine and view for spark while smbdy starts.
- Feel fuel hose; if pressure is healthy, its stiff.
- Run self diagnostics, and/or purchase a tester
