Ok people here's the problem, i'm in the UK and have a very annoying front
suspension noice when going over rough roads.  It's not a loud knocking
noice but close to a rumbling sound.

The car is a 1998 Maxima (QX in the UK) 24V V6  I have replaced the
stabilizer bar connecting rods and the front tyres.  Steering is excellent
and no vibration comes through to the steerintg wheel.  The problem occurs
when going over rough roads or tracks.

Is it possible the ball joints have worn? or the struts? the car has done
82,000 miles.  Are there any other components that could be worn? thre car
will be off the ground for an oil change this weekend, any checks i can
make?

Hope someone can help

At that mileage - it could be the ball ojints, tie rod ends, struts,
strut mounts.. any good shop should be able to help isolate the problem.

Joints may die with one hit on a pavement corner. Cheap and relatively easy
to swap. When car is up, crowbar is a usable tool to exercise the wheel
up/down and watchin/feelin for any clearance.
Check your boots also; see http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/25 check
my email on page1

Your shocks are worn out, as they die by the km. 80k kilometers is enough
cause for divin into ditch as tyres loose grip. Change, check
http://www.sapmotorparts.com/ sells reasonable LIP spanish shocks (oh no
but reasonable = 1/10 nissan price).

Pls. Give me a good UK online maxima -spares shop address, someday will
need spares shipped to scandinavia.
