First, WD40 isn't a lubricant. It's a water displacer (hence the "WD")
and quickly evaporates. Use white lithium grease in a spray can. Lube
the hinges and both sides of the retainer (part that slides in and out
of the door, that's what's really causing your problem).

Huh, wow, I had no idea about WD40, I just thought it was a general
lubricant. I read the can and you are right! I sprayed the parts you
suggested with white lithium grease and it is much improved. Thanks!
