That doesn't make any sense. The person who said that is clueless. The
traction control light has nothing to do with the coils. I think you
need to take it to somebody else who can read the fault and properly
diagnose it.

Sounds like a bad ground connection to the ECU. Try replacing the
negative battery cable first. Aslo check all the other various ground
straps.
Might also have caused your O2 sensor codes - the ECU is getting
confused with noise due to it floating slightly above ground.
