Hector Reports Spam - 27 Mar 2004 22:16 GMT
I just made a conversion from automatic to manual. I rebuilt  the slave
cylinder. When the car is cold,it shifts fine.Once it warms  up. second
gear  grinds as I have the clutch pressed and am shifting  from 1 to 2,
I also have to hold the shifter  very hard so that it does  engage. !st
gear grinds very little when I am stopped and have the cluch pressed.

My question is... Is this the 1-2 syncronizer that hasgone bad?   the
rest of the gears work fine.I can go from 1 to 3 and it wont geind. OR
can it be a bad master cylinder? I noticed I have to refill the deposit
once a week,

Any help is very appreciated.

How does it shift into reverse? Reverse isn't ussually sycronized so if
there is a clutch problem, reverse will grind when you shift into it
sitting still.

If you have to refill the reservoir then you have a leak. BTW why would you
bother to rebuild a slave cylinder when a whole new cylinder is so cheap?
