Does anyone have a copy of the above-referenced service bulletin which they
could post?  This bulletin is titled:  "Ignition Coils - MIL ON/DTC P1320
Stored".

The dealer recently found code P1320 stored in the ECU and recommends
replacing all six ignition coils.  Dealer refuses to cover repair under
warranty or goodwill programs.  Has anyone else been able to obtain
replacement coils at Nissan's expense?

I think it's actually 01-059 and you can see it at the below URL.

I'm not aware of anyone getting Nissan to replace them as a goodwill
gesture and they're only covered by the 3/36 warranty (not the 5/60
powertrain warranty). You can purchase six OEM coils for about $310
shipped from David Burnette (800-251-7278) and install them yourself.
It will take about 30 minutes.  Directions can be found here:

If you car is still under warranty, see the Zone Representative.  Take up
your arguement with him/her.  I had to do this when I owned a, dare I say,
Dodge.  The paint wasnt a year old and flaking off.  Dealership said it was
something getting on the paint from the outiside vs. a bad primer coat or
something.  Took my fight to the Zone Rep and after about 30 minutes of
slick talking I had an agreement from him for a warranty paint job.  Zone
Rep overrides any say that the dealership has, even the owner.  Basically
they are the representative for the auto manufacturer for the area that you
are living in.  Be prepared if you do get a meeting with this person.  They
are busy, smart, and dont like to waste time.  Have your facts solid.  My
winning line was something like this.....

Me, "I paid good money for this truck and dont want to see it go to waste.
I really like this truck, otherwise I would not be going throu all of this
mess."

Zone Rep, "The money you paid for this truck is pretty insignificant when
compaired to the whole scheem of things."

Me,  "Great!  Then a paint job paid for by Dodge should be like pocket
change.  What's the problem?"

Zone Rep,  chuckles, "Ok, let me talk with the service manager and we will
get you fixed up."

There was much more technical talk about paint before that, but that is the
line that pushed the arguement in my favor.  Anyway for whats its worth.
Dealerships dont even like to hear the words, "I want a meeting with the
Zone Rep."  It makes them look bad at resolving customer issues.

I guess I was lucky 6 weeks or so ago as I had all 6 coils replaced as a goodwill
gesture at a dealer.  The service advisor whom I had dealt with before with both
my '99 Maxima and my wife's '95 Altima called and somehow convinced Nissan to
foot the bill when I said I was aware that there had been a problem with the
coils and he agreed that they really should have a recall on them.

Perhaps it paid off that I wrote the service manager a letter commending the
advisor because he had been so helpful with a problem with my wife's '95 Altima.
Maybe this was my repayment for doing so???

My '99 Maxima GLE is around 4-1/2 years old with nearly 55K miles on it.

Thanks to everyone for supplying the valuable information.  Before pursuing
the matter further, I would be interested in reading the actual bulletin.
I contacted Nissan Consumer Relations Department, requesting a copy of the
bulletin, but have not received a response to date.  It seems that they
are reluctant to release this information to the public.

Does anyone have a copy of this bulletin which they could post?

Try this site:

he may or may not have TSB's that apply to your model year, but it's a
start.
