Greetings,
I have a 97' Maxima, SE, Standard. Started replacing the alternator
utilizing Chilton's manual. Any words of wisdom that might help me through
the job is most welcomed. Also were would be the best place to obtain a
replacement alternator.
Much Thanks In Advance

Anything other than a dealer reman is going to be risky. You decide if you
want to do the job 2-3-4 times....

Does it qualify for the alternator diode recall? If so it will be free.
(My alternator failed the week I received the recall notice - I got lucky)

Greetings All - I checked with Nissan and my VIN does not qualify for
alternator recall.
I did find a great site for Maxima info for alternator replacement
http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php/500
It also covers other maintenance too.
Check It Out!!! :)

My 97 Max SE Alternator was replaced FREE_OF_CHARGE last year by the dealer.
Run your VIN at the dealer and see - you may be eligible for the new design.
