2002 Maxima SE faster than 2003 ???

I was just looking at the performance specs on this site below:
http://www.autosite.com/new/grabbag/perform/3422.asp

And they specify that 2002 Maxima SE is fastrer in 0-60 and 1/4 mile than
2003.
Can anybody explain what the difference is? Well unless the compare 6 speed
2002
to a 2003 auto.

The 2002 model they tested was with the 6 speed manual, the 2003 had an
automatic...3.5 V-6/6M vs 3.5 V-6/5A.
