What grade oil are you guys running?

A few members over at Maxima.org have had the same problem. They
switched to a thicker oil and the noise went away.

So, if you're using 5w30, move to 10w30.

This noise is not every time you start. It is maybe once in
about two to three months. And only at start/up

Perhaps the oil filter you use doesn't have an adequate anti-drainback
valve. So for those rare times that you hear the noise, could it be
for those times when the car was sitting for a while, which then gave
a chance for all the oil to drain back to the pan? An oil filter with
a weak anti-drainback valve would increase the likelyhood of this
happening.

I think that is what is going on. The car sits for one or
two days maybe three when this happens. Could very well be
filter??
