350Z Radio sound quality

I have a new 350Z and the sound quality of the standard audio system
is very good - if you are playing CD's.  The radio is another story.
Always sounds like it's not quite on the station.  Dealer says this is
"normal" - common complaint.

I find it hard to believe this is normal.  Anyone else having a
similar problem?

Thanks.

I'm not a huge audiophile, but I'm not terribly happy with my Z's
sound system, either.  But face facts: almost no factory "premium"
stereo set-up is going to beat a good after-market system.

Wow.  I've been plonked by Mike Dahmus I think.  Is he an r.s.c.f.ker?  If so, I'm pretty
sure I've been plonked by him.  He's pretty much a horse's a.s.  I'm proud to have been
plonked by him.

Yup, I just got plonked by Mike for the third time.

First time was for giving him exactly what he wanted (he asked for an
effusive apology, and then got angry b/c he thought it was sarcastic).

Second time was for *not* apologizing for an imagined insult, after I
told him I didn't mean it as an insult in the first place (he still
insisted I apologize for my non-insult), *and* after he admitted he
didn't consider the comment to be an insult.  He just thought I
*meant* it as one.

The third time was completely legit, sort of.  I was trying to get him
to discuss something, and he just kept on responding with "your posts
are too long" replies.  I finally got fed up and went off on him with
a 78-line rant on everything from his intelligence to his racist
tendencies, and got killfiled for that.

Don't bother going back to rsfc (rec.sport.football.college) right
now, unless you want a lot of political talk.  It's the offseason, and
things are pretty slow for on-topic junk.

Yeah, r.s.f.c. invaded ok.general one time.  This was when I pretty much pissed him off:

Amazingly, most of the links still work.  Luckily, I quoted the links I knew he'd remove.
That whole thread was interesting.

does the system have the audio pilot system, I'll bet it does .

If it does have audio pilot, have the dealer search the ASIST data base for
the fix, there is a TSB on this issue

Mine sounds fine on radio, tape or CD.
leeb@home.com - 23 Jun 2004 14:08 GMT
i've got an '04 enthusiast with the regular sound system and it is by
far the biggest disappointment i've had with the car....seemingly no
range, and it's like the rear speakers aren't even plugged in, even
when you send all the signal to the rear just to see if they're alive!

The antenna sucks and if you live far from the stations the reception is
worse.  But, I agree the cdplayer works great
