Hi

Anyone have any advice on buying an imported Nissan 350Z Roadster,
pitfalls, things I should be aware of, things I should ask the dealer
etc etc.

Thanks

Richard

Well yes they are all imported but by Nissan GB (Coupe only). However
the Roadster is not yet available over here and I'm having difficulty
getting any dates from them for when they will be. The one I've been
looking at has been imported by an import company and hence my
question.

Does anyone have anything of value to contribute to my question?

Thanks

Richard

Knowing where you are would be of help.  If you're in Europe or
Austrailia, the answer would be obviously different than if you were
in South America.

I think Paul, since your email address didn't contain any ".co.uk" or
".gb" tags, assumed you were in the US.  Clarifying that
miscommunication would be helpful.

Now, if you're in Great Britain, are you looking for an importer from
the States (left hand drive), or are you looking for a Roadster from
Japan (right hand drive)?  If it's an RHD Roadster you're looking for,
some of the folks here might be able to give you a little general
advice (presumably, it'd be the same as trying to get an RHD car here
in the US), but that'd be all it would be: general advice.

Unless there are actually Brits on here who've gotten JDM cars and
could give you more solid information, that might be the best you can
get.

Warranty, meeting specs for your country so that you can register it, & any
other area-specific paperwork involved.
I assume since it's already there that it was imported legaly & therefore
has passed through customs.

When i was stationed overseas people used to buy german cars that were
called gray market because they didn't meet our standards, there are
companies that bring the car into line with US safety and EPA standards You
might be able to order from factory like people did with Saabs they could go
and actually see their car being built,

Understand that the Japanese Domestic Market cars have different
standards.  So, make sure that you get the specs for Great Britain and
compair them to the ones from Japan.  Also, you will not have the disc
for Europe if you buy the Nav system...
