hey guys, if i shift fast and give it any gas before the clutch is all the
way out the car backs the timing off, boggs down and then knocks, i want
to know why it does this and how i can fix it

Using premium fuel I hope? How do you know it's changing the timing? Sounds
more like a MAS issue to me.

yes of course im ussung premium, and i think the computer is delaying the
timing because all power is retarded when i refer to it as bogging down,
and then it knocks once, i was thinking maybe a knock sensor(detonation
sensor) complication, but MAS sounds very relivant and ill look at it,
thanks alot, if u have any other ideas please share it would be much
appreciated

you'd be surprised how many people don't was why I asked.

Probably is more a lean condition causing this. The knock sensor never
comes into play unless you use cheap gas. Some people think the engine
"bounces off" the knock sensor keeping the timing at the maximum it can
stand, that isn't how it works..

You might "play" with the TPS adjustment and see if it helps..

thanks alot man i really appreciate it, ill mess with the tps and mas, but
running lean could be because ive got an aftermarket intake on my car, and
i dont have the upgraded ecu in yet to correct it. ill put that in as soon
as it comes, hopefully oe of those things will fix the problem

Please see the following:

http://twinturbo.net/ttnetfaq/FAQpages/hesitate2.html

Page 6 paragraph entitled "Induced turbulence in the air intake."

It refers to the airflow around a POP charger being so smooth the MAS will
have trouble registering the correct amount of air and giving strange
readings to the ECU.  The fix is to place duct tape along the bottom of the
charger.  The article says this should eliminate the problem.

Ah ha! That can make them have strange running problems and the oil from the
filter can trash the MAS.
