Yep, short trips use the warm up cycle for a larger percentage of the time
and heavy foot with a turbo equals crappy MPG.

ahh cool, havent had a chance to take it on a road trip, needing new tires
and struts and all, so haven't been able to get an upper limit on the gas
mileage range.
Conciquently, it takes 10 minutes to get to work, so that borks the engine
warmup cycle I'm sure.
As a side note, SteveT, when replacing the timing chain, its also a good
time to replace the waterpump right? is there a parts list somewhere that I
can take to a nissan dealership and say "give me all of this"?

Stay off the boost until it's fully warm - about 10 min.
