I am recently experiencing a clicking type noise in the rear when the car
is going into gear - i have a manual and this noise is beginning to worsen
it seems, it happens when shifting into gear - especially from a dead stop.
any ideas?

There is also another noise coming from the engine bay to the left when i
am in 1st gear accelerating, 2d gear - jst above around 3200 rpm - like a
winding or high pitched vaccuum or something strange.
