Background (for the public):
Steve emailed me & offered to sell me a thermostat housing for $20. I
didn't know if that was a bare housing or if it came with the sensor(s) I
need, so I wrote back & said I thought that was a *tad* high (my exact
words), then asked if it included the sensor (which would have made it a
good price). He wrote back & said I was cheap & that he'd rather throw it
out than sell it to me at any price. I wrote back but have not heard back
from him, so here is my response.
Hi Steve,
Just wanted to let you know I'm not cheap; I'm poor. I've made less than
an average of $1500 per year for the last 5 years, since the f**king
THEIVES stole almost everything I had worked for for the past 15 years (at
that time).
I had to sell the home that my parents & I built, on 2 1/2 acres that had
been in the family for forty years! Using that equity I've just now gotten
back to the point of where I was in 1989.  I'm currently living in my
moving van, without a well (I have to bring in 5 gals. of water at a time,
& put it on top of the van running through a black hose just to take an
outdoor shower), with no money & no income. I'm trying to sell what I can
& take in some paint work (auto body, paint, fiberglass, custom work) or
web work (site design, graphics, hosting, etc.) to pay my phone & elec.
bills.
I'll find the housing & sensor somewhere else, or if I can't I'll find a
trans & put the 283 in it. You asked me not to email you, so I have
deleted all of your emails & removed your website from my favorites. The
site sucks anyway, & your boss has never even answered my previous email.
Don't worry I won't bother you again (as per your request). Hell if my
insurance hadn't ran out I would be able to drive & probably would have
already found the housing & had the car running again anyway...

BTW: if anyone wants a *NICE* mild custom '83 ZX 5-speed that just needs a
thermostat housing (for the '80 engine) & the engine dropped in you can see
pics here (botton of page): http://angelonearth.net/carparts/

>Hi Steve,
> $20 seems a tad high,

Just forget it. I'd rather throw it away then listen
to someone bitch about $20 being too much money.
Sheeze I can't BELIEVE people are this CHEAP!!!! You
have any idea what a new one costs? The sensor you
want included is more than this!

Good luck finding one cheaper, please don't e-mail or
call me again.

Steve
--------------

That's the e-mail I sent.  I said I'd rather throw it away than listen to
someone BITCH about a bargain priced item.  I explained for you in detail
how to deal with this engine swap problem and what you had to do to make
this engine work in that car.  You wanted a good housing with a good
thermostat and good sensors and -then- wanted to get it cheaper than $20?
Sorry, that isn't worth my time screwing around with. I have to go pull it
off a car and try to get the bolts out without breaking them, then deal
with your money order (you say paypal is going to steal your money?) then
box it up, ship it etc. I'm sure you'd then want me to throw in shipping or
figure it to the penney?

$20 is about half what we would normally sell something like this for, I was
trying to do you a favor! A new lower half bare was over $75 when they were
avalible. A new temp sensor is almost $40.

Sorry you have personal/finacial problems, that isn't -my- problem. Thanx
for airing our private e-mails in public and good luck finding one for less
than I offered.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for responding. I just wanted to make sure you understood my
situation.
I didn't "bitch" about the price; I simply said that for a used bare
housing I thought it was a "tad" high. Thus the reason for asking if it
included the sensor, at which time I would have thought it was a *great*
price. A simple misunderstang...
Explain in detail? Sounds like you spent hours answering all kinds of
questions. In fact you have told me about the sensor & if a '77
clutch/flywheel would fit. I *do* appreciate that, but it's hardly how to
do a swap "in detail".
I was thinking of coming down to pick it up, thus eliminating the need for
you to bother with packing & shipping.
I was also going to buy several other parts from you at the same time, &
offer to give you the engine that came out of the car. It's a good engine
except for a warped head.
So throw it out if you like: hell I *had* to leave ALOT of good Z parts
behind when I moved.
And....I never said I wanted a "good housing with a good
thermostat and good sensors and -then- wanted to get it cheaper than $20".
I didn't need the thermostat (I have a new one already) - heck I could have
probably used my sensor on the '80 housing too.
I really don't care if I ever find another housing. I can probably just
drill & tap the housing I have & install the original sensor. If not as I
said I'll just junk all of the Nissan crap & put the 283 into it. I *hate*
the fuel injection anyway as it's the one thing on any car I don't have the
equipment to deal with.
No hard feelings, in either event.
