I am sure everyone wants to know the model and milage. Also is it carborated
or Fuel Injected?
Does it run even when sitting still or driving?
Is the fan running? Is this fan electric or fan driven?
Is the temperature gauge indicating any rise in temperature when it dies?

I meant: does it stall even when sitting still or driving?

considering its a 85, its 20 years old. im sure it would be in your best
interest not to fix it and get a newer truck.

Get a service manual and find out if your vehicle has an
anti-dieseling solenoid. If it does, unscrew it, take the pin out,
and screw it back in and see if the problem goes away.
