Any help is appreciated, Thanks in advance,
The fluid leaked out of the clutch master cylinder inside the car.
So I replaced the clutch master cylinder and the slave cylinder.
I am having a very hard time getting any pedal.
Bled and bled and bled till no air comes out but the pedal wont
come off the floor.
What am I doing wrong.
Thanks

Check for a 2nd fluid line that branches off between the master and slave
cylinders... doesn't actually go anywhere but it needs to be bled too if
you have one.

Just delete that loop and bleed again. Then you will be good.

Been there, done that. The answer is to pressurize the system. The
trick I used (which I picked up from the Internet) involved a bicycle
inner tube (don't get a skinny 10 speed tube) and an old fashioned
(hand operated) air pump. Cut the inner tube in half (not too close
to the valve). Fold one end over several times and clamp it to form a
seal. Stretch the other end over the open resevoir of the clutch
master cylinder and pump air into it. Once you have sufficient
pressure built up, you'll be able to bleed the rest of the air out of
the system.
Good luck

Thanks Outta nowhere,
For all the good advise.
The tube of a bicycle tire worked good for bleeding the system, but...
It turned out to be the junction box between the Clutch Master cylinder and
the Slave cylinder that was bad.
No Auto part store knew of this part so off to the dealer we went.
$44.00 for the part and $162.00 at the local shop to have them bore out the
bolts that broke off while trying to replace the original part ourself.
The clutch works just fine now.
Thanks again,
Tom & Karla

You're welcome.
Where's that junction box located? I'm pretty sure my '89 doesn't
have one.

Outta Nowhere,
Sorry for the delay, I've been busy.
From the Master cylinder at the top left side of the engine compartment
follow the lines accross the top back of the engine wall, down the right
side of the engine, down below the transmission approximately below the
passengerside seat.A black junction box with a bunch of lines connected.
That's it. One set of the lines went from the junction box to the slave
cylinder closer to the front of the underside of the engine. Others just
looped back and went to nothing. Not all have this but I've heard Chevy does
the same thing for their brake master cylinders.
Thanks againe for your help in solving our dilema.
