I have a late 86 which is close to the 87 with 200 and some thousand miles
on. It has always run well, but good things never last.
I'm now puffing white smoke and have oil in the water. Obviously it's one
of three things, head gasket, head itself or God forbid a busted block. It
still accelerates well and starts with no problem. Anyone have any
information that might help me make a decision on what to do.

Prolly a head gasket or head. Either way, you have to pull the head(s).
It may not be worth fixing depending on the conditon of the rest of the
vehicle and the cost to repair.

Compare the cost of repairs with the value of the beast. It might be
cheaper to buy another.
